Following an unfactual article printed and circulated today (Monday, September 12, 2022), in a section of the local press by Mr. Freddie Kissoon on the award of the Rodney Chair, the University of Guyana wishes to categorically state that the Rodney Chair has not been awarded to anyone.

The University of Guyana recently hosted the official handing-over ceremony for the book: Judge Mohamed Shahabuddeen: A Pictorial Biography by Mohamed Shahabudeen’s son Sieyf Shahabuddeen. The iconic publication will now add significantly to the body of literature that is available in Guyana and the region on the extraordinary life and career of celebrated Guyanese legal luminary Judge Mohamed Shahabuddeen.
