Entry Requirements


Description
At least five (5) subjects at the CSEC General Proficiency (grades I or II, (or III from 1998) or five (5) subjects at the GCE ‘O’ level examinations which must include English Language and Mathematics and passes in any one of the following subjects (Agriculture Science, Biology, Human & Social Biology, Integrated Science, Food & Nutrition, Accounts, Business and Economics) or its equivalent.
Persons of mature age (a minimum of 26 years in the calendar year of entry to the University) who do not meet the minimum requirements but who can satisfy the University with evidence of recent academic achievement and relevant experience and a pass at the University of Guyana Entrance Examination (UGEE).
Any qualification considered by the University to be equivalent to any of the above.
Three (3) subjects (Grades A-E) at the GCE 'A' Level or Three (3) subjects (Grades I-III) at CAPE (both units I and II), one of which must be Entrepreneurship, Agricultural Science, Management of Business or Biology.
A Diploma in Agriculture from the Guyana School of Agriculture or its equivalent.
A Certificate in Agriculture with a minimum pass with credit from the Guyana School of Agriculture and a minimum of three (3) subjects at CSEC or equivalent.
A Certificate in agro-processing with a minimum pass with credit from the Guyana School of Agriculture and a minimum of three (3) subjects at CSEC or equivalent.
A Trained Teacher's Certificate with a minimum pass with credit from Cyril Potter College of Education and a minimum of three (3) subjects at CSEC or equivalent.
Ordinary Diploma in Commerce (ODC) from the Government Technical Institute (GTI) (minimum pass with credit), plus three (3) subjects CXC/CSEC/GCE "O' Level.
The Associate of Science from the University of Guyana, or its equivalent.
