| A minimum of five (5) CSEC General Proficiency (Grades I & II; and III from 1998) or five (5) passes at GCE 'O' Level (Grade A, B or C) and must include English Language and Mathematics. |
| A Certificate/Diploma/Associate Degree/Bachelor's Degree from the University of Guyana, plus a pass in one of the following such as MTH031, CSEC, GCE O-Level, CAPE Unit 1 or GCE AS-Level Mathematics. |
| An Associate Degree in Mathematics or Science from CXC or other examination board or University. |
| A Trained Teachers' Certificate or Associate Degree in Education (option: Secondary Mathematics) from Cyril Potter College of Education. |
| A mature student (age 26 years and over) with a pass in one of the following such as MTH031, GCE O-Level, CAPE Unit 1 or GCE AS-Level Mathematics, together with a pass at the University of Guyana Entrance Examination (UGEE). |
| At least three (3) units of CAPE (Grades I - III) or three (3) subjects GCE A-Level which must include Pure Mathematics, plus two (2) subjects at CSEC or GCE O-Level inclusive of English A. |
| A pass in GTTE with specialization in Ordinary Diploma in Science or Commerce together with a pass in one of teh following such as MTH031, CSEC, GCE O-Level, CAPE Unit 1 or GCE AS-Level Mathematics. |
| Any qualification considered by the University of Guyana equivalent to any of the above. |
