Entry Requirements


Description
A Bachelor of Education (Bed) degree from the University of Guyana which is at or above the level of Pass with Credit.
(i) Any other first Degree from the University of Guyana at or above the level of Pass with Credit AND a Diploma in Education. (ii) Any other first Degree with a Pass only AND a Distinction at the Diploma in Education.
A first Degree from any other approved University which is equivalent to that at (1).
A Degree and a Diploma equivalent to those at (2).
To be in a Senior Administrator position with other qualifications and experience deemed appropriate by the School of Education & Humanities and approved by the Board for Graduate Studies.
IN ADDITION: All candidates are required to submit with their application: Personal Statement (of approximately 1000 words). It should explain why they wish to enrol in the MEd in Literacy Studies, highlighting the traits, attributes and Philosophy of Education that make them suitable candidates for the programme. Additionally, they must describe the area of the intended research project that will address a recurring and relevant problem in education in their home country, regionally or internationally. Letter of recommendation from their head or supervisor attesting to their potential in Literacy Studies. Curriculum vitae listing educational and professional experiences and accomplishments. Evidence of a completed individual research or paper (for example, copy or link to project/report/paper completed for Bachelor’s programme)
