A stranded pygmy whale ( Feresa sp.) was successfully rescued and returned to the sea earlier today, Tuesday, in a collaborative effort involving the University of Guyana, the Ministry of Agriculture, and public-spirited residents of Buxton.

The University of Guyana notes with deep regret and concern the letter to the editor by an anonymous writer regarding a single long-outstanding grade in the Department of Law. The Department of Law and the Faculty of Social Sciences have collectively apologised to the affected students and assured the Vice-Chancellor once again that the series of unfortunate circumstances which have led to this inexcusable situation will be rectified by the beginning of next week.

THE UNIVERSITY OF GUYANA HAS NOT AUTHORIZED, NOR IS IT CURRENTLY CONDUCTING, ANY POLITICAL POLLING SURVEY

The University of Guyana wishes to advise that it has not authorized, nor is it currently conducting any survey which includes political polling. It would appear that persons purporting to be students of the University are soliciting responses to a certain survey in the Berbice area at the moment.

The public should note the following:
