Summary

To provide students at the University of Guyana with counselling services as indicated by their expressed and/or observed needs (particularly in the area of personal-social-emotional needs).

To provide Inclusion Support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at the University of Guyana.

To conduct research, evaluate data and provide necessary therapeutic services.

 

Qualification, Knowledge and Experience

Requirements

A higher degree in Education with a focus on Guidance and Counselling or Educational Development and Social Psychology or Psychopathology.

OR

A higher degree in Diversity & Inclusion studies 

A higher degree in the Social Sciences with a focus on Sociology and relevant subdivisions of Psychology.

OR

An under-graduate degree in Psychology and a post-graduate diploma with a focus on Guidance and Counselling/Diversity with relevant subdivisions of Psychology & Inclusion studies.

PLUS

Recognized work experience in an educational institution preferably among adults.

 

Salary

Salary Scale: UA3: $426,442 - $619,835

Benefits currently include travelling allowance, contributory medical and pension schemes; gratuity (where applicable), annual and vacation leave, leave passage and academic materials allowance.

Placement on Salary Scale would be dependent on level of qualification and relevant experience.
