| Ordinary Diploma in Science (ODC) pass with Credit, from the Government Technical Institute(GTI), plus three (3) subjects at CXC/CSEC at the grades I, II or III or GCE 'O' Level A, B or C which must include English Language, Mathematics and one (1) Science subject
AND
A certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse (preference will be given to a candidate who is a Registered Nurse and also a Registered Midwife) with the Nursing Council of Guyana or any other foreign registration which is acceptable to both the Nursing Council and the University of Guyana OR a certificate from the University of Guyana showing completion of the Medex Programme and also registration to practice as a Medex. |
| Trained Teacher's Certificate with specialization in Natural Science and three(3) passes at CXC/CSEC at the grades I, II or III or GCE 'O' Level A, B or C including English Language and Mathematics;
AND
A certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse (preference will be given to a candidate who is a Registered Nurse and also a Registered Midwife) with the Nursing Council of Guyana or any other foreign registration which is acceptable to both the Nursing Council and the University of Guyana OR a certificate from the University of Guyana showing completion of the Medex Programme and also registration to practice as a Medex. |
| Persons of mature age (26 years and over) are also eligible, provided they have had a minimum of five(5) years and relevant working experience and are successful at the University of Guyana Entrance Examination (UGEE);
AND
A certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse (preference will be given to a candidate who is a Registered Nurse and also a Registered Midwife) with the Nursing Council of Guyana or any other foreign registration which is acceptable to both the Nursing Council and the University of Guyana OR a certificate from the University of Guyana showing completion of the Medex Programme and also registration to practice as a Medex. |
| Passes at five (5) subjects at the CXC/CSEC (General Proficiency) Examination, grades I, II or III (grade III from 1998) or GCE 'O' Level grades A, B or C and must include English Language, Mathematics and one (1) Science subject.
AND
A certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse (preference will be given to a candidate who is a Registered Nurse and also a Registered Midwife) with the Nursing Council of Guyana or any other foreign registration which is acceptable to both the Nursing Council and the University of Guyana OR a certificate from the University of Guyana showing completion of the Medex Programme and also registration to practice as a Medex. |
| Any other qualification equivalent to any of the above. |
