The University of Guyana wishes to advise that its Berbice leg of the Open Day and Job Fair, originally scheduled for Friday, 24 April 2026, at the University of Guyana Berbice Campus, has been postponed to Monday, 27 April 2026, from 9:30 hrs to 16:00 hrs.  

The decision to postpone the event is due to extreme weather conditions which are predicted for the next few days (April 22–25). A Special Information Bulletin issued by the Hydrometeorological Service on April 22, states that “unstable atmospheric conditions are expected to affect Guyana from April 22 to 25, 2026, resulting in widespread rainfall and an increased risk of flooding, particularly in low-lying and poorly drained areas. Regions 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are expected to receive the highest amounts of rainfall, with periods of moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms, lightning, and increased wind speeds.”
