First, join us for the Ceremonial Opening and Campus Mingle on Friday, August 30th, at the Multi-Purpose Complex, Turkeyen Campus. The Campus Mingle kicks off at 12:00 hrs, where you can make new friends, meet your Faculty Reps, and enjoy a campus tour before the Ceremonial Opening at 14:00 hrs.

UG Opens Pioneering Institute for Marine and Riverine Ecologies and Economies at Berbice Campus
The University of Guyana, recently officially declared open its Institute for Marine and Riverine Ecologies and Economies (IMAREE) which will play a pivotal role in advancing research, education, and innovation in marine and riverine ecosystems, further aligning the University’s efforts with national and global sustainable development priorities.

Please be informed that the University of Guyana library is undergoing a roof rehabilitation project, which commenced on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Due to the nature of the work being undertaken, we kindly request that all staff and students refrain from parking or walking in the areas where construction activities are ongoing.


You are invited to attend the opening of the Echoes of Resilience Art Exhibition at Castellani House on August 8, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. with continued showings from August 9-19, 2024, Monday to Friday from10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
