Student Guide
Dear Students, A warm welcome to each of you. You are now embarking on a period of higher education and I commend you on the decision to do so and wish you every success.
Life at any University is different from that in schools. There is more independence and at the same time you are treated as adults and have to assume more responsibility for your own learning and activities. Your studies will be demanding and challenging. Accept the challenge and aim for top grades. When you have questions and encounter difficulties, seek assistance from your lecturers, the Faculty support staff, the Dean, Assistant Dean and other relevant offices on Campus including the University of Guyana Students Society (UGSS). Check the notice boards regularly for important announcements. Apart from your studies, there are other dimensions to University life such as socialisation, sports and clubs. These activities are not meant to distract you from your studies but are intended to assist you and enrich your University experience. Please participate in as many activities as you can, and at all times show responsible and respectful behaviour to each other, University property and the environment. Dr James G Rose Vice-Chancellor
